St. Paul, VA - July 11, 2024:

Deputies from Wise and Dickenson Counties responded to a reported shooting incident in the 5700 block of Creek Hill Road. Upon arrival, law enforcement confirmed that a shooting had taken place.

One individual involved in the incident was transported by helicopter to receive treatment for serious injuries. The person responsible for discharging the firearm is currently in custody with Wise County Sheriff's Office (WCSO) deputies, and authorities have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Wise County Sheriff's Office, in conjunction with the Wise County Commonwealth's Attorney's Office, is actively investigating the incident. They are working diligently to gather all relevant information and evidence.
